I am a local artist and small business owner in Rochester, NY. As I expand my creative endeavors I’m on the lookout for a talented Part-Time Assistant Video Editor to help with the creation of video assets to support my business and creative projects. Finished content will be primarily published online across social media and YouTube.

General Overview

The Assistant Video Editor will play a crucial role in the pre-production phase, meticulously organizing clips and preparing timelines using Adobe Premiere Pro. The primary job responsibility will be to screen raw footage, ensuring it meets technical standards for usability. While major editing won’t be the focus, the Assistant Video Editor will be an integral part of the video creation process, contributing to the visual storytelling that showcases my brand across social media and YouTube.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and categorize raw footage to facilitate seamless editing processes
  • Prepare timelines and assist in pre-production tasks using Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Complete rough editing and cutting of video clips
  • Adapt to project requirements and assist in various aspects of video production as needed

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro with a grasp of basic video editing principles
  • Free access to hardware capable of handling large format 4K video files for editing
  • The ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Passion for visual storytelling and artistic expression

Job Type: Contract

Expected hours: 20 per week

Pay: $16-20/hr 

Work location: remote 

Schedule

This is a part-time position with an initial commitment of 20 hours per week. The position enables flexible hours with weekly deadlines.

While the vast majority of tasks are expected to be strictly technical in nature, opportunities for creative collaboration and broadening of the scope of work may develop as the business grows.
